Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Best Review
I like 99.9% of North America had no idea whom half these people on the roster were. Most of the time fighting games come out you never do, but with a Capcom Vs. Title it’s almost expected that you know who your going up against. Oddly enough I somehow recognized Ken the eagle and Jun the Swan(maybe from a past life in which I lived in Japan?) but I went into this game not knowing what to expect. As with all great raves and reviews I disregard them. Since I’ve played pleny games people raved about that I thought were total crap. Since this was a Capcom Vs. Game where I could play my beloved Chun Li I had to pick it up. Ironically since I’ve been fondeling her controls for the past two decades almost its strange how no matter what game she’s in I almost automaticly know what to do with her. This game is no exception pretty easy to dive right in and get aquanted with the characters.
There’s lots to choose from some I never expected I’d like but enjoyed a lot. Not knowing anything about the Tatsunoko team didn’t bother me. I like being introduced to new players in these Vs. games then reading up about them. So don’t let not knowing who the other players are turn you off from the game.
The game itself is pretty colorful as you would expect from a capcom game. Over the top stages with over the top combos. It’s why we all love it. My only dislike about the game so far are the controls. There is no block button which is annoying as hell since its tied to the directional pad(I miss having the block button!) and the Nintendo’s weird controllers dont give you much options of a good fighting interface. The classic controller feels to light.. the Wii remote setup is a joke, but the Gamecube (which I use) is alright, aside from the wierd feel of the buttons in the back its the best choice. Im too poor after buying this game to get the joystick for it, so hopefully maybe a Custom controller will be made just for this game that’s cheaper?
Another thing I noticed about the game is that Capcom has really made pulling supers extremely easy! Back in the arcade days if you could pull off Ryu’s Hadoken at will you where the master. Supers shouldn’t be so easy to activate. Kind of make you feel like you earned something for nothing. This seems to be a common theme with a lot of today’s fighting games. There’s alot more flash than mash.
Playing online is fun too, but you can be matched with someone who has spent much more time in the game playing than you so you might get whooped on, but it’s fun that way because that’s what makes fighting games fun. This is the only game I used Wii online for and it is well deserved. This along with No More Heroes renewed my interest in my Wii-tendo.
Overall the game is flashy fun and exactly what Nintendo needed to breathe life back into it for real gamers.
Also to note while playing this game with it’s none english dialogue I couldn’t take my mind of Atlus’s Arcana Heart if you haven’t played that it’s a WAY awsome fighting game well worthy of looking into.
PS. This game is best played with the fight stick unless you can master the art of the game cube controller. All other controllers are a waste of time.

Not what I expected - Francis Nanco - Venezuela
Its a good Street Fighter Style game, good playabilit but lack of history, I beleive that by now the endings of the games should be a little more interactives, at least put videos… Too easy and its a game that it would not take you more than 2 hours to complete…
This game is great - H. O. Brathwaite - Brooklyn, NY USA
I am not a generally a fan of fighting games but I loved Marvel vs. Capcom 2, therefore I decided to give this game a try. I was blown away, the game is genuinely fun and adds a great fighting game to the Wii library (which is desperately needs). Some of the strong points are the new fighting strategies such as the Baroque technique and the Mega Crash, as well as the fighting tempo of the game. This game is very easy to pick up but it is so deep that it can take a while to master. Also, the online component is one of the greatest that I have seen on the Wii (other than Mario Kart) with rankings, friend and rival, and free battles you can have hours of fun with this component alone. The only drawback I see with this game is that the amount of characters playable are too small especially when compared to Marvel vs. Capcom 2. But all in all this game is awesome and deserves to be in every Wii owners game library!
It’s good, but it can be a lot better - Edward Puentes - Caracas, Vzla
First of all I have to say that I have this and the japanese version, but I have to say the japanese version is far better than this one.
Good.
This version has good graphics, nice characters, impressive powers, english menu and is nice to fight.
Bad.
Really bad online fighting, there’s no lag in the fight, but is slow finding someone to fight, and is a pretty lame wait 5 minutes for a fight. I am a fanatic of online playing, because I can see my level, but is really slow the process. Besides, the difficulty level is a joke, the hardest is like novice in the japanese version. I am not precisely a master in fight, but getting 50 fights in survival is not normal I quit because is was boring. For example, I got 17 when I was playing in a good level in the other version .
This game is amazing, I really like it, but this is not a improvement. I recommend you; try to find the japanese version and enjoy it. If you cannot, well buy it and enjoy it for some hours.
